Rebecca Goldstein is an award-winning philosopher and a writer whose novels and short stories dramatize the concerns of philosophy without sacrificing the demands of imaginative storytelling.
After receiving her PhD from Princeton University, Rebecca went on to become a fellow at Harvard, Yale & Dartmouth Universities, while continuing to pursue her passions for writing and teaching. Rebecca has been awarded the National Humanities Medal By President Barrack Obama and the coveted Genius Award by the MacArthur Foundation.

In 1996, Goldstein received the prize commonly known as the “Genius Award.” when she became a MacArthur fellow. She was elected to The American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2005 and the following year she received both a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Radcliffe Fellowship. In 2008, the International Academy of Humanism designated her a Humanist Laureate. That same year Emerson College awarded her an honorary Doctorate.
The American Humanist Association designated her to be the Humanist of the year in 2011 and the Freedom from Religion Foundation designated her to be the Freethought Heroine of the year. In 2015, Goldstein was awarded the National Humanities Medal by President Obama.
